Development

The Office of Development is dedicated to developing external funding in support of university programs and institutional goals.  The University of South Carolina Beaufort is working hard to find external funding through grants and gifts to supplement funding provided by the state, tuition and fees.

As a public university, USCB receives state funding. However the direct support received from the state provides less than twenty-eight percent of USCB's annual operating budget.  In order to grow baccalaureate and community programs and to build future and enhance present facilities will require unprecedented external support.  While the University is increasing its grant applications and successes, it is clear that the generosity of this community provides the biggest impetus for our developing a distinctive institution.  Gifts to the University are investments in our region and in the quality of life of area residents.  We all benefit from the intellectual, educational, recreational and cultural opportunities the University provides.

Gifts to USCB will be used to meet the University's most important needs and opportunities, including faculty recruitment and retention, student scholarships and retention programs, library and computer resources, academic, athletic and community outreach program development and facilities maintenance, renovation and construction.
