USCB Fine Arts Department Presents the 20th Annual Student Exhibition

BEAUFORT, S.C. – – The Studio Art Program and the Fine Arts Department at the University of South Carolina Beaufort will present the 20th Annual Student Exhibition beginning April 3rd at the Sea Islands Center Gallery on the university's Historic Beaufort campus.
The exhibition, intended as a showcase for the work of USCB's Studio Art/MART students, will open with a public reception on April 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The students' artwork, representing various media, will be on display through April 13th. The exhibition is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment.
USCB's Studio Art Program seeks to showcase exemplary artistic achievements from students majoring, minoring or participating in Studio Art/MART courses. This show is juried and will feature artworks selected for the exhibition by this year's juror, Bridget Conn, Assistant Professor of Art and Photography at Armstrong State University in Savannah, GA. In addition, awards will be given to the artists in the following categories: 1st, 2nd 3rd Place awards, 2D award, 3D award, Digital award, along with two Honorable Mention awards.
Members of the university's Studio Art/MART faculty will attend the exhibition and be available to meet with parents and art patrons. USCB's Studio Art degree program provides graduates with a comprehensive background in the theory and practice of studio art along with media art disciplines. The program builds upon a solid foundation in art history offered within the context of a liberal arts education. It prepares graduates for a professional career in the arts or for a graduate program in fine arts.
