Major Requirements

The Bachelor of Arts with a major in History is designed to be flexible enough to provide the student with a background adequate for graduate studies in History, for a future in education or in preparation for such professions as business, law, the ministry, advertising, communications and technical writing. A student seeking the bachelor‘s degree in History must take thirty-three credit hours of upper division history courses including the history program’s capstone course, the Historian’s Craft. In addition to these major requirements, history majors are also required to take two classes in the humanities, two classes in the social sciences, a course in logic, and demonstrate proficiency in a foreign language.
