WELCOME

Welcome to the University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) Department of Nursing and Health Professions.  I am delighted you have chosen to take a closer look at the USCB BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program.  The program was fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) effective November 2008 and fully approved by the South Carolina Board of Nursing effective November 2011.

We currently offer two tracks. One is an RN to BSN completion track, which graduated its first class in April 2009.  The other is a pre-licensure track, with its initial graduating class in spring 2011.  The RN to BSN track provides a BSN degree to registered nurses who hold a diploma or associate degree in nursing.

The pre-licensure track provides a four year course of study to the BSN. Pre-licensure students who are completing their pre-nursing requirements may apply for admission into the BSN major up until August 1 of each year through NursingCAS. Applicants will be notified of the admissions committee decision by October 31st.  Core nursing courses will begin in the following spring semester.

The USC-Beaufort nursing faculty is dedicated to providing excellence in baccalaureate nursing education and personalized attention and assisting individuals to achieve their full potential.  We believe we can accomplish these goals because of the values and philosophy we share in common and the small size of our program.  Pre-licensure students who want to learn more about the rewards and realities of a nursing career are encouraged to visit the "Discover Nursing" website.  You may also wish to consult the current USCB BSN Student Handbook
