About
Professor Malphrus' teaching interests include Creative Writing, fiction and poetry, as well as courses in Southern Literature and American Literature, including Postmodernism and the American Novel Since 1914. Special topics courses include one that focuses on the War/Anti-War Novel in Twentieth Century American Literature.

Currently she is working on a novel and a book of poetry. Her research interests are varied – from William Eastlake (whose work was the subject of her dissertation) to the notion of “rootedness” and restlessness in American fiction to various Southern writers.
