Stay active and have fun with the numerous recreation adventures waiting for you at the University of South Carolina Beaufort.

From working out in our state-of-the-art fitness center to getting involved in our more than 30 clubs and organizations, an outdoor intramural basketball game to weekend horseback riding excursions, you’ll experience and explore a variety of Sand Shark adventures to keep your heart racing on and off campus.

USCB Campus Center

You’ll quickly discover USCB’s Campus Center, a 26,000-square-foot facility on the Hilton Head Gateway campus. With a multipurpose room, student lounge, student meeting space, fitness center, bookstore, and full-service dining hall, it’s a great social hub for all students to come together.

The fitness center features elliptical cross-trainers, recumbent and upright bikes, treadmills, Stairmasters, free weights, and strength training equipment. Sports equipment can be checked out as well, including baseball gloves, basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, tennis racquets, volleyballs, and Wii games.

Intramurals

Our intramural and recreation programs provide our students with enjoyable fun, exercise, and relaxation, while encouraging team spirit and good sportsmanship. Whether it’s on the field or on the court, USCB has numerous intramural sports.

Sand Shark Adventures

Our outdoor recreation program—Sand Shark Adventures—gives students a fun and safe way to experience the great outdoors. Transportation is included in each trip, but there is generally a small fee. Our past trips have included:

  • Full-moon paddling at Shelter Cove
  • Horseback riding at Sea Pines
  • Indoor rock climbing in Jacksonville, Florida
  • Jet skiing on Hilton Head Island
  • Kayaking at Beaufort Marsh
  • Snow skiing in West Virginia
  • Stand-up paddle boarding
  • Whitewater rafting on the Chattooga River
