"What is art? What is its function? How and for whom does it 'work?'"

The goal of this panel discussion is to address the problems of defining or determining what is "art," and further, to help our audience develop a critical voice in evaluating its success, based not on "beauty or physical perfection" alone, but rather on an artist’s ability to create something timeless and evocative that never ceases to stimulate response and strike deeper chords than mere physical or visual pleasure from its audiences. Please join USCB's professors and invited artists as they offer their philosophies and artworks that will no doubt challenge traditional notions, inviting you to consider new ways of looking at and appreciating art.
