USCB Net Price Calculator

Net Price Calculator

As part of the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the University provides this Net Price Calculator (NPC) in accordance with requirements from the U.S. Department of Education.   The Calculator reflects the average cost of attendance and financial aid funding levels from the 2010-2011 academic year.  These estimates apply to new, full-time, first-time, degree seeking undergraduate students only.   It is not intended for use by transfer, continuing, part-time, re-admitted, or international students.

The NPC is a tool for students and parents to use to get the estimate of what it may cost to attend USCB each year. It is important for you to understand that the information you receive from the calculator is a broad estimate.  Eligibility requirements vary and awards are not guaranteed through the use of the Net Price Calculator.  Many factors come into play when we award financial aid to students including, but not limited to:

  • The student completing the FAFSA, which determines final eligibility for federal and state grants: to apply online visit:  www.fafsa.ed.gov
  • Meeting all university, federal and state eligibility requirements,
  • Meeting USCB FAFSA priority filing deadline which is March 3rd,
  • Grade levels and Academics,
  • Having verifiable financial information and
  • The availability of funds at the time USCB makes the award offer to the student.

The estimates include students who completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and those who received a grant, scholarship and/or athletic award(s).

It is also important to note that the net price calculator does not incorporate Federal Stafford Loans into its financial aid calculations. Students who file a FAFSA maybe eligible for low interest, deferred loans through the Federal Direct Lending Program. The loan amounts that students are offered vary based on a student's dependency status and grade level in school. For information regarding Federal Stafford Loan amounts and requirements, click on:  Student Loan Programs

Please note the SC Scholarship estimate does not reflect a final determination or actual award.  Your official notification of eligibility will be submitted to you once you have been accepted for admission, and we have reviewed your GPA and test scores from your official transcript.  For more information on South Carolina Scholarship Programs, please click on:  State Aid

The University Scholarships are determined based on eligibility for admission into a degree granting program, actual test scores, GPA, academic information and meeting the deadline.  To be considered for USCB Scholarships, students must apply.  Please visit:   USCB Scholarships

External source scholarships, private student loans, and student employment opportunities are also available to assist with funding the net price.

USCB believes that this calculator will produce valuable information for planning purposes. However, actual aid offers may be substantially different from this calculator's estimates because not all students will qualify for all the aid that the calculator indicates may be available.
