Commencement Regalia
Regalia (Cap, Gown, Tassel):
2013 Commencement regalia is made of a higher quality fabric than that includes red tabs embroidered eith the seal of the University of South Carolina. Regalia from USCB ceremonies prior to 2011 or regalia purchased from other USC system campuses may not match our current standard. Graduate candidates who are attending the Commencement ceremony must be wearing USCB approved regalia in order to participate.
Please complete the ACADEMIC REGALIA ORDER FORM and fax it to Shark's Cove Bookstore at 843-208-8920 or deliver it in person at the bookstore's Hilton Head Gateway Campus location (Campus Center Building). When you place your order, you will have three (3) choices for shipping: UPS ground, Pick-up at Hilton Head Gateway Campus Bookstore (Bluffton) or Pick-up at Historic Beaufort Campus Business Office (Beaufort).
Deadline for regalia orders (for students and faculty) through the Bookstore is MARCH 1ST!! After March 1st, you must order online.

Graduation with Honors:
Graduation with Honors is based on a student's cumulative and USC GPAs. The cumulative GPA does include transfer work completed at other institutions. To receive honors at the time of graduation, both the cumulative and USC GPAs must be above a 3.50. To graduate with such honors, a student must have earned at least 30 credit hours applicable toward the degree in residence at the University. Courses taken at other institutions, by correspondence, by examination, or by exemption are not considered in residence.
Summa Cum Laude: a cumulative GPA of 3.95-4.00
Magna Cum Laude: a cumulative GPA of 3.75-3.949
Cum Laude: a cumulative GPA of 3.50-3.749
Honors Cords: Degree candidates who are eligible for the distinction of graduating with "cum laude, magna cum laude, or summa cum laude" honors, are entitled to wear gold honor cords as part of their commencement regalia.
The Registrar's Office verifies the honors a student has received and provides the bookstore with a current list of candidates eligible to wear honor cords in the commencement ceremony. Any questions regarding a candidate's eligibility for honors should be addressed to the Registrar's Office at 843-208-8050.
