Community Service

USCB Community Service facilitates a variety of volunteer opportunities that allow students to make a positive impact at the local, state, and national levels. Developing and strengthening relationships with community partners is a fundamental component of USCB Community Service’s mission, and as a result, students are able to identify volunteer placements from a database of over 60 local organizations.

Some of Our Partners

  • Boys and Girls Club of the Lowcountry
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Family Promise
  • Neighborhood Outreach Connection
  • Circle of Hope Ministries
  • Backpack Buddies
  • Bluffton Self-Help
  • Beaufort County Human Services Alliance
  • Jasper Animal Rescue Mission

Besides matching individual students with opportunities to serve others, USCB Community Service also supports the Rotaract Club (formerly Sand Sharks for Service), organizes annual Alternative Spring Break trips, and collaborates with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) of the Lowcountry program.

Whether someone is interested in joining a community service club, participating in a service immersion experience, or using their unique skill set to benefit a specific human services organization, USCB Community Service is dedicated to helping students accomplish their goals.  If you are passionate about service and want to get involved, please visit the Civic Engagement Coordinator / AmeriCorps VISTA, in room 118 of the Campus Center or email this year's AmeriCorps VISTA found on the Office of Student Life staff page.
