New Student Email System
Note: You must login with firstname.lastname@example.org
email@example.com will not work for logging in to Outlook Live@edu!
Beginning with the Spring 2010 semester, there is a new student email system in place. This new email system, Outlook Live@edu, offers students a much larger inbox, with optional features such as online storage, as well as collaboration and social networking tools. Students began using their new email on January 5, 2010.
USC Beaufort students will have a new email address: USERNAME@email.uscb.edu (substituting the network username). Any email sent to an @mailbox.sc.edu account will be forwarded to the Outlook Live@edu account during the Spring 2010 semester. Students will need to change their network username password BEFORE using the new system. This can be done through VIP – Technology tab.
USC Beaufort students can login to their new student email account on January 5 by going to www.uscb.edu/studentemail. Please note that your login ID for Outlook Live@edu is firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note to minimize confusion with correspondence from other campuses, your account will receive e-mail addressed to you as USERNAME@email.uscb.edu or USERNAME@email.sc.edu.
Students will have:
- 10 GB inbox
- Multi-Browser Support
- Optional Features: - 25 GB online storage
- Blogging & Photo sharing tools
- Collaboration tools
For more information about the features, please visit http://www.sc.edu/studentemail.
When will it happen:
Outlook Live@edu will be available for students on January 5, 2010.
For Students Who Also Work At the University:
Students who also work at the university will retain their @uscb.edu mail for work and should begin using their Outlook Live@edu account for student correspondence. E-mail sent to @uscb.edu will NOT be automatically forwarded to your Outlook Live@edu account.
** The University faculty and staff email system and email addresses will remain the same: @mailbox.sc.edu (@uscb.edu). University student email is the only system that is changing.**
