Thrive Women's Conference Announces Fellowship for Business Major at USCB

August 20, 2018

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC.  – The second annual THRIVE Lowcountry Women's Conference, taking place on Thursday, September 6, 2018, has announced their first THRIVE Fellowship. Created to provide financial support for an outstanding female junior or senior level Business major at the University of South Carolina Beaufort, the fellowship will give the recipient an opportunity to interact and gain professional insight from entrepreneurial women in business. The goal is to impact their career through exposure to a variety of different industries, skills sets, and operational settings.

We are delighted to collaborate with the USCB Business Administration Department, who will select a deserving student for this opportunity to gain insight beyond the classroom and network with accomplished women," says Rod Casavant, SCORE's Lowcountry Chapter Chairman.

This year's attendees will also include all South Carolina SCORE chapter leaders, district director, and selected national leaders. The conference framework is being examined by others state-wide to assess the feasibility of conducting other local and regional conferences to support women in business.

"SCORE is pleased to support this event with the title sponsor, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina," says Gordon Magee, South Carolina's SCORE District Director. "Any way that SCORE can help women in business with information, education, networking, and resources is what we need to do as we are seeing women start new businesses at an increasing rate. We are pleased to have all our South Carolina SCORE chapters be a part of this top-notch event,"

The Thrive Lowcountry Women's Conference is presented in partnership by SCORE of the Lowcountry, The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, and BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina.
