Counseling and Accessibility Services
Counseling & Accessibility Services
Sometimes we all need a little extra help.
Counseling services are available to USCB students as part of the network of support services provided by the Department of Student Development for the purpose of increasing student’s academic success and personal development through the promotion of health and wellness. Issues of depression, homesickness, anxiety and stress, sexual orientation and gender identity, substance abuse, eating disorders, time management, anger management, sexual assault, feelings of isolation and loneliness, as well as other challenges may be addressed through counseling.
Accessibility Services provides a range of individualized support services and accommodations for students with documented disabilities who are registered with Accessibility Services. The accommodations are based on the nature and extent of each student's disability. Accommodations and services are determined through confidential interviews with a counselor in Accessibility Services. Accessibility Services is one of the support services provided by the Student Development Division. The University of South Carolina Beaufort believes academically qualified individuals with disabilities should have equal opportunity and access to a quality college education. We are actively involved in fostering an environment that encourages full participation by students with disabilities in every segment of the University. Accessibility Services facilitates services and accommodations to meet the various needs of students with disabilities at the University, in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
