The Environmental Club at USCB
The Environmental Club at the University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) is an organization with projects directed towards making a difference to the environment at the southern coastal region of South Carolina. The selected projects have a focus on important challenges that we have identified and require a resolution. Additionally, the club is also very active in raising awareness to the community. Membership is open to university students at USCB at any level. If you are interested in joining the club, please contact the director.

Implementation of an Improved Recycling Program at USCB (2020).
Ms. Claudia Doll (B.S. Biology) who was the 2018/2019 president,
started the project,
along with Dr. D'Antonio. The goal was to allow USCB to have single-stream recycling.
USCB has a student enrollment of 2100 students with 300 faculty and staff.
The single-stream recycling program started in January of 2020 after receiving funding
from a crowd-funding campaign through Experiment.
The recycling program was implemented on all campuses, in which all faculty and
staff were provided with blue recycling bins for their offices, recycling videos were
created that showed how to properly recycle plastics, paper & cardboard, and metals.
Outdoor blue recycling receptacles were placed in strategic locations on all three
campuses that was supported by a 2020 Palmetto Pride Litter Prevention Grant.
The Environmental Club at USCB was featured in the Bluffton Sun for the project.
