Mr. Brandon is a native of Early Branch, South Carolina and a 2008 graduate of the Wade Hampton High School in Varnville, SC. Growing up, Brandon was always singing and very active in his local church. His love for singing grew with him as he matured from a child into a young adult. In 2015, Brandon realized that he wanted to transition his career interest to higher education. He then began working as a Career/College Counselor at Midlands Technical College, while pursuing his Master of Education in Higher Education from Columbia College. After Mr. Brandon graduated in December 2015, he transitioned back to the Lowcountry of South Carolina to accept the position of a first-year academic advisor at the University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB). Brandon is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. Not only did he begin working as an academic advisor, but also serving as the on-campus advisor and director of the USCB Gospel Choir. Currently, Brandon serves as the Sand Shark Scholars Bridge Program Coordinator, as well as studying as a third-year doctoral student. Mr. Wright’s personal philosophy is, “As a student affairs professional, I always want to be able to evolve as the needs of my students evolve.” He is passionate about assisting in the growth, development, and success of students. In his spare time, he likes to listen to music, write music, sing, cook, fish, spend time with friends, direct the USCB gospel choir, and most importantly work on his dissertation. Brandon is very thankful to God for all of his accomplishments, his opportunities of influence, and consistent favor throughout his life.
