Dr. Iglesias has extensive academic and corporate experience. His academic background consists of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a second bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kennesaw State University, an MBA degree from Mackenzie University, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and credits in the master’s degree program in Organizational Behavior at New York University before earning his doctoral degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida.  He teaches courses in Principles of Management, Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, International Business, Organizational Behavior, and Research Methods. His research interests encompass four areas of management: Strategic Management, International Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizational Behavior. His recent research studies focus on U.S. and Latin American CEOs and entrepreneurs.

Dr. Iglesias’s corporate experience began at the age of eighteen in his family's hardware stores and construction business in Brazil. After holding the position of operations manager for a couple of years, he was promoted to the position of Vice-President of Marketing at the age of twenty-five. After four years in the VP position, Dr. Iglesias made one of the hardest decisions of his life: to leave his family business and follow an entrepreneurial career. First, he worked for a direct marketing consulting firm as a Marketing Analyst and Operations Manager. That was the opportunity Dr. Iglesias was waiting for: to learn about the consulting business world. He then decided to establish his own management consulting firm. His firm provided management consulting services in Total Quality Management to FIAT Automobile’s Brazil dealerships, as well as small and medium-size companies in the retail, manufacturing and construction industries. He also consulted with local government agencies in municipalities in Northeastern Brazil. In the U.S., Dr. Iglesias has consulted with Brazilian firms interested in real estate development and with U.S. manufacturers seeking to enter the Latin American market. Dr. Iglesias also worked for the SCORE – New Orleans chapter as a management consultant.

Teaching is one of Dr. Iglesias’s passions in life. He enjoys teaching to a diverse body of students and helping them find their place in the business world. In his teaching role, he focuses on integrating class content and its practical application to the local business community. He values high-impact practices and hands on experiences to motivate students to learn. One example of a high impact practice is the use of business community-based projects that help students develop not only their critical thinking skills, but also their soft skills. He also provides his students the opportunity to work on business simulations which allow them to experience the challenges of managing their own companies.

Dr. Iglesias is currently a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Management in the USCB Department of Business Administration.
