Hello Potential Students and Parents!

Welcome to the School of Science and Mathematics at USCB.  So many changes and opportunities are happening in the school.  For the second year in a row, we have an honors program in Biology, and this fall Biology has become the largest major at USCB.  Computer Science is growing, with a new undergraduate degree in Information Science and Technology and USCB’s first Master’s degree program in Computational Science.  The recent majors in Mathematics and Secondary Education and Math are also thriving!

We house the traditional Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) majors, and it’s a great time to be a STEM major.  Biology, now the largest major at USCB, and Computational Science, have been growing steadily for the past few years, and our new Computational Science Master’s program places us among the leaders of STEM education in South Carolina.

We are actively working to make yours a meaningful and transformative undergrad experience through research and internship opportunities. Your professors have active research programs and many of our students have won competitive internships at top-tier companies, government agencies, or other research programs, nationally.  You will know what STEM majors “do,” even before you graduate.  As a testament to our strengths, our science graduates are going on to jobs in industry/government (locally and nationally), graduate school, medical/dental/pharmacy schools and more.  Our CompSci graduates get offers, often before they even graduate.

We hope you’ll discover the “not so hidden” Lowcountry treasure that is the School of Science and Mathematics at USCB, where you can get all the top-tier experience with a small-school feel. Join us and let us help you achieve your goals; whether it’s a degree in Biology, Math or Computer Science.  Feel free to contact us:; B.S. in Biological Sciences and Secondary Education in Biology; B.S. in Computational Science, Information Systems & Technology, and M.S. in Computational Science; B.S. in Math, Applied Math and Secondary Education in Math

We look forward to making your vision, your future.
