I am an Assistant Professor in the BSN Nursing Program at USCB. An accomplished registered nurse with more than 40 years nursing experience, my nursing career spans 5 countries (England, Australia, the Middle East (Oman and the UAE), and the US). My nursing background includes orthopedic and medical-surgical nursing, quality and patient safety and leadership. I completed my Master of Science in Nursing (Education focus) and Doctor of Nursing Practice in Advanced Leadership in Healthcare, at Regis University, CO. With a strong work ethic and a passion for high standards I bring my diverse experience to support and educate BSN nursing students, helping shape the best nurses of the future in this ever changing and challenging healthcare arena.
My role as Assessment and Outcomes Coordinator involves oversight and monitoring of the Master Plan for Evaluation to meet accreditation standards with the collection and analysis of outcomes data. As Program Coordinator for Nursing Honors, I provide oversight and management of honors program curriculum, and other resources necessary to maintain and improve the effectiveness of the honors academic program including supporting program recruitment and retention efforts.
I am an active member of the South Carolina Nurses Association and the National League for Nurses. I serve in the position of BSN Educator and Chair of the Advisory Committee on Nursing Education (ACONE), of the SC Board of Nursing. Certifications include Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) since 2010 and Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) since 2023. In my spare time I teach and practice yoga and love to travel.
