Overview

Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, High-Throughput Screening, SARS-CoV-2, Betacoronaviruses, COVID-19, Chagas' Disease, Leishmaniasis, Human African Trypanosomiasis, and Neglected Tropical Diseases.

Research

Undergraduate researchers in my laboratory utilize a variety of important techniques ranging from analytical chemistry, biotechnology, enzymology, structural biology, compound screening, and synthetic chemistry. We implement structure-based drug design and screening approaches in order to develop or identigy new classes of inhibitors for protein targets found in parasites that cause trypanosomatid diseases and the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
