Study Human Services at USCB


The University of South Carolina Beaufort’s bachelor’s degree in Human Services prepares students for employment or advanced study in the art and science of care. This interdisciplinary degree produces graduates with attitudes, values, knowledge and skills to make a positive difference.  In addition to Human Services courses, the program draws heavily from the disciplines of sociology and psychology and requires internships where students apply knowledge and skills learned through their coursework.  Accredited by the National Council on Standards for Human Services Education. USCB's program is the only accredited bachelor's degree in Human Services in South Carolina.

USCB offers two routes to a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services: in-person classes on our Bluffton campus or 100% online with virtual instruction. The online option is for USCB students who need the flexibility to learn remotely from any location. In both tracks, students work closely with faculty on a variety of real-world research and community projects.

For students who have earned previous college or university credits but need to complete their degree, USCB Online offers an online completion program leading to a BS in Human Services.
