As of Thursday, September 5, at 3:00pm, Gov. Henry McMaster has lifted the mandatory evacuation order for Beaufort, Jasper, and Colleton Counties: https://scemd.org/news/evacuation-orders-lifted-for-beaufort-jasper-and-colleton-counties-at-300-pm-today/.

All Beaufort County schools and government offices will reopen Monday, September 9. 

For USCB Personnel:
All USCB business operations – Bluffton, Beaufort, and Hilton Head Island campuses – will resume Monday, September 9.

For USCB Students:
All USCB residence halls and dining services – Bluffton and Beaufort campuses – will reopen Sunday, September 8, at 12:00pm.
All USCB classes – Bluffton, Beaufort, and Hilton Head Island campuses – will resume normal schedules Monday, September 9.

Gov. Henry McMaster has ordered a mandatory evacuation of the entire SC coast,
including Beaufort County, effective Monday, September 2, at 12:00pm.

All schools and government offices in Beaufort County are closed from Tuesday, September 3, until further notice.

All USCB classes – Bluffton, Beaufort, and Hilton Head Island campuses – are cancelled until further notice.

All USCB business operations – Bluffton, Beaufort, and Hilton Head Island campuses – are ceased until further notice.

All USCB residence halls – Bluffton and Beaufort campuses – are closed from Monday, September 2, at 12:00pm until further notice.

STUDENTS SHOULD NOT RETURN TO CAMPUS.

We will update continually on http://www.uscb.edu/ about when the university will reopen.

Gov. Henry McMaster has declared a state of emergency and urges all South Carolinians
to prepare for the possibility that we may be affected by Hurricane Dorian:

We continue to monitor the trajectory of the storm.
Any potential impact for Beaufort and Jasper Counties remains unclear.
We urge all to stay abreast of developments and to act with an abundance of caution and preparedness.

For USCB Personnel:
USCB remains open, including residence halls, libraries, and dining service.
The university will be closed on Monday, September 2, in the normal observance of Labor Day
but will resume operations on Tuesday, September 3.

For USCB Students:
All face-to-face classes are cancelled until further notice. However, online classes continue.
Further, while residence halls are open, we encourage students, who have left campus for the holiday weekend, to remain away from campus until we understand the full ramifications of the storm.

For students:
On Friday, August 30, face-to-face classes and student organization meetings/events will be suspended at 12:00pm. This decision is based on potential traffic concerns – given possible evacuations from Florida.

We are monitoring the trajectory of Tropical Storm Dorian.  At this early stage, any potential impact for Beaufort and Jasper Counties is unclear.

We urge you to stay abreast of developments and to act with an abundance of caution and preparedness.

No decisions have been made about class cancellation or campus closing.  We will continue to update as we know more.

If you plan to leave campus for the holiday weekend, PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE ALL ESSENTIALS – including medications, service animals, devices and charging cords, automobiles, bicycles, etc. – in the event that you are away from campus for an extended period.
