COVID-19 Recommendations

While the COVID emergency is over, COVID is still in our communities. COVID is a contagious respiratory illness that you can spread to others, particularly the very young, older adults, and those with impaired immune systems.

To minimize risk, practice good hand hygiene, improve ventilation, such as opening windows, and stay up to date with recommended vaccines for your age group.

If you think you have been EXPOSED to someone with COVID, be vigilant about hand hygiene and stay away from people with a  weakened immune system.  Consider wearing a mask if you are in close proximity to others for long periods of time. Take a COVID test if you begin to have any symptoms.

If you test POSITIVE for COVID, stay home and away from others until both conditions are met:

  1. Your symptoms are improving

AND

  1. You are fever-free without medications such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen

When you return to school or work, wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth for another five days.

What does mean for you? Your isolation time will be variable, based on how you feel. Some people may have very mild symptoms and be able to return to school or work 24h after a positive test, and others may need feel ill for several days before seeing their symptoms improve.
