Jim Glasson, M.A.

Jim Glasson has been working in the Human Services Program at USCB since 2005. He coordinates the programs internships, teaches a variety of courses, recruits and advices students and has been responsible for helping develop the curriculum for the program. He has more than 40 years of experience in both college teaching and working in human services.
In his career he has served as executive director of three different non-profit agencies and the Vice [resident of Community Development at the United Way pf the Low country. As a grant writer he has authored or co-authored proposals that have been awarded more than fourth million dollars in local, state, federal and private foundation funding. He is also sought after trainer and facilitator and recognized as a national expert on community development, youth development, service learning and assets approaches in human services.
Jim holds a master’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Rhode Island, and a bachelor degree in philosophy from Arizona State University. He also has a Certificate in Non- Profit Management from Duke University and is a Board Certified Human Services Practitioner. In 2015 he was the recipient of the University of South Carolina Martin Luther King, Jr. Social Justice Award.
