Sand Shark Adventures - Outdoor Recreation
Sand Shark Adventures is Campus Recreation's signature off-campus excursion program designed to get students away from campus and explore the beauty and culture of the greater Lowcountry region. Whether you're looking for outdoor thrills, cultural experiences, retail therapy, or just a fun weekend getaway, Sand Shark Adventures offers something for every student.
What We Offer
Our curated adventures include a diverse range of activities—from guided kayaking tours through scenic waterways and wildlife exploration at local nature reserves, to shopping excursions at unique boutiques and thrift stores, entertainment outings like bowling and concerts, and educational trips to regional attractions. Each adventure is carefully planned to maximize fun, learning, and connection with our community.
Program Highlights
- Affordable & Accessible: Trips range from free to $100, making adventure accessible to all students
- Convenient Transportation: Van transportation is provided for most trips, eliminating the hassle of getting there
- Small Group Experience: Limited to 14 participants per trip, ensuring an intimate and engaging experience
- Weekend Fun: Activities are scheduled on weekends so you can participate without conflicting with classes
- Community Connection: Explore local businesses, support Lowcountry organizations, and discover why our region is special

What You Need to Know:
No-show participants are not eligible for a refund.
Basic health history form will be required prior to trip for all participants.
If you are providing your own transportation, you will be responsible for all parking
fees.
Trips are filled based on registration and payment basis; spots will not be held.
Trips are a student-first activity. If faculty/staff are interested in joining an
adventure trip, please email Lindsey Logue to be placed on the faculty/staff waitlist.
If spots remain available after the deadline, we will contact individuals on the waitlist.
Refunds:
You must cancel at least 7 days prior to the trip to get a refund. A full refund will
be given if the trip is canceled due to low registration, weather, or other extenuating
circumstances. If you register for the trip inside the 7-day refund window, you will
not be given a refund.
