USCB Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

Navigating COVID-19 Safely

USCB’s goals for Summer 2021 – following CDC and SCDHEC-guided protocols – are to encourage students, faculty and staff to get vaccinated and to restore our campuses to more customary operating environments and schedules.

Based on recent CDC guidelines and low case rates in Beaufort and Jasper counties, summer COVID guidelines for masking are modified:

Mask Optional

  • Fully vaccinated employees, students and visitors in all indoor settings

Mask Recommended

  • Anyone who is not fully vaccinated should wear a mask indoors when <3ft apart from others for at least 15 minutes
  • Indoor gatherings of 10 or more people who are less than 3ft apart

Please note interim mask guidelines are subject to change based on community and university COVID infection rates and/or revised CDC or SCDHEC Guidelines.

USCB continually monitors conditions across our campuses, the region, and the state to determine a university-wide level of alert. For each level, there are mitigation strategies to be followed by members of our community in order to contain the spread of COVID-19.
