Greetings from the Provost & EVCAA
Dear Prospective Student,
As you consider your next steps, you may wonder: With all the choices out there, which university is right for you? Why should I consider USCB? It starts with academics, but it’ so much more than that. Our academic programs set us apart because we emphasize experiential learning—meaning learning by doing. Last year, 70% of USCB students engaged in at least one experiential learning activity and we’re on track to reach our goal of 100% by 2028!
Our faculty have made it a priority to engage students in transformative activities including undergraduate research, service learning, internships, and study abroad. As USCB faculty tackle the region’s biggest challenges—protecting our coastal ecosystems, improving health outcomes, enhancing educational opportunities and more—they bring their students along on the journey, engaging them in meaningful research and service.
We nurture the whole student because we care not only about your education but also about your growth as a person. At USCB you will have the chance to realize your unique potential while making a difference—whether that be in your own local community or on a grander scale, transforming the world around us. All this is part of earning a top-notch USCB education that will prepare you for the workforce. We guarantee you will graduate with a global perspective and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Thank you for considering USCB. If you have any questions about our academic programs, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We hope to see you on campus soon.
